Section 2. The president shall appoint the chairman of the standing committees, who shall in turn select the members to serve on the committee.
Section 3. Other committees may be appointed by the president as directed by the society or executive board.
Article V
Monetary Authority
Section 1. Any committee, with a majority vote of members, shall have the authority to spend up to two hundred dollars ($200) to fund a committee project in any given six (6) month period.
Section 2. The executive committee shall have the authority to appropriate from two hundred ($200) to five hundred ($500) dollars for Historical Society projects in any given six (6) month period.
Section 3. All other expenditures must be approved by a majority of members present at a regular meeting.
Article VI
The rules contained by Robert's rules of Order shall govern the proceedings of the society except in such cases as are governed by the by-laws. A parliamentarian shall be appointed by the president to see the above is carried out.
Article VII
These by-laws may be amended at any regular meeting by a two-thirds vote of those voting, provided notice was given at the previous meeting, or they may be amended at a special meeting called for the purpose, with previous notice and a two-third vote. All proposed amendments shall be submitted in writing.
