Section 6. The corresponding secretary shall mail membership cards, attend to the necessary correspondence of the society and maintain a file of correspondence. He/ she shall also assume the duties of the recording secretary in the absence of the recording secretary.
Section 7. The treasurer shall be responsible for the safekeeping of the society funds and for maintaining adequate financial records. He/ she shall deposit all monies received with a reliable banking company in the name of Haralson County Historical Society. Monies shall be paid out by numbered checks signed by the treasurer and the president or vice-president. The treasurer will collect dues. He/ she shall render a monthly report and an annual statement. In the event the treasurer is unavailable, either the president or 1st vice-president shall assume the duties.
Section 8. Officers shall be elected to serve a two year term. They may serve more than two consecutive terms, if re-elected.
Section 9. The officers and chairmen of standing and special committees shall constitute the executive board. The executive board shall decide questions of policy that for any reason cannot be acted upon at a meeting of the society.
Article IV
Committees
Section 1. The society shall have the following standing committees:
Library Committee - responsible for collecting, cataloging, and repairing books, manuscripts, newspapers and other historical source material. The committee shall keep a scrapbok of the activities of the society.
Museum Committee - responsible for collecting, cataloging, clearing, repairing and storage of historic objects, for arranging museum exhibits, and correct historical interpretation of these exhibits; for the care and upkeep of the museum quarters.
Publications Committee - responsible for writing and sending newsletters to members and for writing reports from meetings for the local newspaper.
Historical Sites Committee - responsible for establishing the historic validity for sites proposed for marking, for marking historic sites and for arranging historic tours.
Program Committee - responsible for arranging suitable programs.
Membership Committee - responsible for membership drives and processing new candidates for membership.
Nominations Committee - responsible for making nominations for officers.
Telephone Committee - responsible for maintaining a county-wide telephone communications network, and for notifying the entire membership of the society of monthly meetings and any other necessary communications.
Fund Raising Committee - responsible for suggesting fund raising projects for the society.
Courthouse restoration and maintenance - responsible for suggesting restoration projects and for seeing that these projects and maintenance of the courthouse is carried out.
